Course Aims

This course aims at providing students with an in-depth understanding of specific topics in cognitive psychology by reviewing recent articles in the field. Some the more recent developments in cognitive psychology is covered in this course. Topics include: object and face recognition, attention, memory, decision making and language. Students are expected to be capable of understanding research studies and provide critical discussion in cognitive psychology.

This course is conducted in the form of seminar series. Every seminar covers a specific topic in cognitive psychology. Key issues and foundation concepts are first introduced by the lecturer in the beginning of every seminar. One group of students will then give a presentation on the assigned paper. Other Students are also required to join the discussion led by the presentation group.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

After completing the course, students should be able to:

1. critically review research studies in cognitive psychology

2. Integrate their knowledge in psychology with arguments in research studies

3. present academic journal articles in a logical way

4. write research proposal in Psychology, particularly related to Cognitive phenomena in APA format
