Course Aims
The course is designed to introduce students to psychology within the formal educational context. The course benefits those who are interested in learning about psychology applied to education and those who intend to engage in professions such as children/youth counselling. Areas covered in this course include student development, learning processes, teaching methods, classroom assessment, classroom management, etc. Relevant issues are discussed and the local context is given consideration
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)
Upon completion of this course students should be able to:
 
1. Describe learner’s psychological development and cognitive process;
 
2. Explain how learning occurs;
 
3. Apply various effective teaching methods and models;
 
4. Analyze how human diversities influence classroom learning;
 
5. Evaluate teaching methods and the application of educational- psychological models in
     teaching practicums.
