Course Aims
The course is designed to introduce students to psychology within the formal educational context. The course benefits those who are interested in learning about psychology applied to education and those who intend to engage in professions such as children/youth counselling. Areas covered in this course include student development, learning processes, teaching methods, classroom assessment, classroom management, etc. Relevant issues are discussed and the local context is given consideration.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

The course familiarizes students with knowledge about learners, the teaching and learning process, as well as relevant issues. After completing the course, students will be able to:

1. describe learner’s development and related issues; 

2. explain how learning occurs;

3. identify various effective teaching methods and models; 

4. recognise various recent research in educational psychology;

5. explain how human diversities influence classroom learning.
