Provision of Services for the Basic, Advanced and/or Thematic Courses for Teacher Professional Development on Catering for Students with Special Educational Needs for the 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 School Years

Hong Kong Shue Yan University has been entrusted by the Education Bureau of HKSAR to offer a range of professional development courses for teachers on catering to students with special educational needs (SEN) for the school years 2024/25, 2025/26, and 2026/27.

 

The Department of Counselling and Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan University provides comprehensive support and training for teachers in both primary and secondary schools. The department takes charge of program development, administration support, and quality control.

 

These courses, which are fully funded by the government, are part of the Education Bureau's commitment to implementing integrated education (IE) for students with SEN in mainstream schools. The courses are approved by the Education Bureau and are offered on a full-time block release basis.

 

The specific thematic courses available are as follows:

Thematic Course D: Supporting Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (60 hours)

Thematic Course E: Supporting Students with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) (60 hours)

Thematic Course F: Supporting Students with Mental Illness (MI) (60 hours).
