APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY AND DIGITAL INVESTIGATION LABORATORY
Applied Psychology and Digital Investigation Laboratory (formerly known as Computer-Assisted Data Analysis Laboratory) is funded under the Counselling and Research Centre (CRC). It is a specialized research and educational facility that serves both applied psychology and digital investigation professionals. The lab combines contemporary psychological science with digital forensics methods to study human behavior across various contexts.
For applied psychology students, the laboratory provides hands-on experience in conducting psychological research, behavioral analysis, and real-world applications of psychological principles. Students can explore areas such as cognitive psychology, social behavior, decision-making processes, and human-computer interaction.
The digital investigation component offers specialized courses including Psychology of Online Fraud, Technology and Crime, and Psychology of Cybercrime. These courses examine the psychological factors behind digital criminal behavior, the combinations of technology and criminal activity, and the mental processes involved in various forms of cybercrime.
The laboratory is equipped with advanced software for psychological assessments, behavioral analysis, data mining, and statistical analysis of complex datasets. This technology enables comprehensive research studies and practical training opportunities.
The facility serves as both an educational environment for applied psychology students and a research hub for developing evidence-based investigative tools, offering interdisciplinary collaboration and preparing students for diverse career paths in psychology and digital investigation fields.
