Lanzhou University (China)

Ms. Lynn Liu, MSSPSY year 1 student, exchanged at Lanzhou University in June 2026.

I’ve just wrapped up my exchange program in Lanzhou University in June 2026, and I have to say, it’s been an incredible journey—almost like a dream.

We visited Lanzhou University. It’s a prestigious institution with a strong academic reputation. The university boasts state-of-the-art research facilities, multiple publishing houses, and excellent career prospects for its students. While there, we took a course called “Sandplay Therapy.” This course truly opened my eyes and gave me a whole new perspective on psychology. I absolutely loved it—to be honest, I’m already wishing I could take it again!

What moved me most was the kindness shown by the faculty and students there. They helped us with everything, from buying train tickets to securing museum tickets—which are notoriously hard to get. They had everything arranged before we even had a chance to ask. It was so warm and welcoming!

Through this trip, I not only got to know Lanzhou University but also experienced the culture of Gansu Province—it felt as if I had truly walked the Silk Road. We saw unique karst landscapes, temples built on cliffs, and the famous Mogao Caves. Those caves hold a wealth of knowledge about astronomy, geography, art, and history. They opened up a whole new world for me.

All in all, I’m so grateful for every moment.

It is my honour to be one the exchange student in the University of Lancashire. I met many international friends and the way of teaching here is quite different from HK. It is also a great chance for me to explore the world! 

Fu Chi, current undergraduate student in the BSScPSY Programme, exchanged in the English Language, Global Business and Social Issues Programme at Hertford College, University of Oxford, UK, in Summer 2025. 

The summer exchange program at the University of Oxford was an experience that left a deep impression on me. What I remember most are the small and quiet moments, such as sitting down for tea, sharing meals, and having long conversations with people from different cultural backgrounds. These moments made me realize how much our experiences and cultures shape the way we think, feel, and connect with others. As a psychology student, being able to observe and experience this in everyday life helped me understand people on a deeper level, beyond what I could learn from textbooks. Looking back, the program encouraged me to listen more and appreciate the complexity of human connections!

"The world is big. It awaits your exploration. If you’re not living on the edge. You’re just taking up away too much space." As more I see, I find out I have a lot of improve for myself and the exchange experience let my life more meaningful. Study in British, is an unforgettable experience and influence me in variety perspectives.  

NG Nok In, current undergraduate student in the BSScCP Programme, exchanged at the Delightful Istanbul Summer School at Istanbul Aydin University, Turkey, in Summer 2024.

I feel fortunate to have participated in this exchange program. It wasn't just about enjoying the local culture and customs of Turkey but also about forming unforgettable friendships. Even after the journey ended, I stayed in touch with friends from various countries, occasionally playing games together. These friendships and connections have given me the confidence to become a better person and the courage to engage with the wider world.

My learning experience abroad in UBC was enriching and life changing. I gained a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity and developed skills that will benefit my future academic and career endeavors. I'm happy I had the opportunity to meet everyone in Canada, it will always be an unforgettable experience and enjoyable memory.
