Course Aims This course provides an introduction to various aspects of human development from a lifespan perspective. It introduces factors and processes that present in developmental and psychological adjustment. These include important concepts, theories and studies that provide an overview of physical, cognitive, emotional and social needs of individuals in their life-span development. Students are encouraged to conduct field research and/or case analysis related to developmental psychology.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. Identify the biological, psychological and social influence of human development over the           lifespan

2. Apply major developmental psychology theories to explain human development;

3. Recognize the major issues in developmental psychology – from birth to dying and       
    bereavement
 
4. Identify the research methods used in studies of developmental psychology;
 
5. Analyze cases or conduct interviews on topics related to developmental psychology.
