The Sciences of Trauma, Adjustment, Resilience, and Social Impact Lab was established to foster a strength-based, multidisciplinary approach to understanding community mental health and well-being.

The lab conducts research on key topics such as resilience, mental health promotion, positive psychology, aging, the grey digital divide, and the experiences of working caregivers for adults with long-term care needs. Additionally, it serves as a platform for teaching and academic exchange in the fields of mental health, aging, and positive psychology.

The lab is directed by Dr. Winnie Yuen and Dr. Bobo Lau. Dr. Yuen has a background in clinical psychology, with extensive experience in research and practice focused on mental health recovery, positive psychology, and sexual health promotion. Dr. Lau specializes in health psychology and gerontology, contributing to research on successful aging, longevity, caregiving for the oldest-old, as well as the grey digital divide and the challenges faced by working caregivers.


The on-going projects of the lab target several domains including
1) community mental health and support,
2) strengths-based interventions
3) grey digital divide and diversity in older ICT users
4) working caregivers for adults with long-term care needs
