Course Aims
This course aims at introducing the information processing approach in the study of human cognition and its central concepts to students. The topics include: object and face recognition, attention, memory, decision making and language. Methods and skills in investigating cognitive process are also introduced. Students will also conduct cognitive psychology experiment and write laboratory reports.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 

1. master the major theories and concepts in cognitive psychology related to attention, learning, memory, language, and problem solving.                                                                        
2. use knowledge of what constitutes good scientific methodology in evaluating cognitive psychological research methods and findings presented in textbooks and media resources.                                                                                                                                 
3. stimulate students' awareness of the applications of cognitive psychology in their everyday life.
                                                                                                                                    
4. write laboratory reports in Psychology, particularly related to Cognitive phenomena in APA format.
