Course Aims
This course aims at promoting self-awareness and developing essential ingredients of psychological health as creativity, emotional and interpersonal competencies, and the capacity to participate in community life. It helps to sensitize students to perceive themselves both as unique individuals and as integral members of social groups, societies, or cultures. By fostering self-awareness, the course aims to enable students to recognize their strengths, limitations, and opportunities for personal growth. In addition, on a professional level, the course emphasizes the understanding of mental fitness as an ethical imperative and encourages students to establish goals and plans to meet required standards.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

Upon completion of this course student should be able to:

1. Distinguish a better self-understanding as individuals and as members of a social 
    group, society and culture;
 
2. Demonstrate a higher level of self-awareness of one’s strengths, limitations, and
    opportunities for personal growth;
 
3. Practice more effective and appropriate use of group communication skills;
 
4. Apply a better awareness of the essential aspects of psychological health, including
    creativity, self-regulation, emotional and interpersonal competencies, and the
    capacity to participate in community life;
 
5. Develop and implement a good understanding and sensitivity that mental health
    fitness is an ethical requirement to become a professional counsellor.
