The “Pre-internship” allows students to gain access to a number of counselling situations. This is a chance for students to become familiarized with the counselling environment, to understand the counselling process, to develop an acute sense about the types of counsellees that frequent the different settings, and to offer rudimentary counselling. Students are required to obtain at least 120 hours of pre-internship experience from 3 - 5 different institutions before the end of the third academic year. This is one of the prerequisite for the“Internship in Counselling” (COUN 461-2).
