Course Aims
This course critically reviews contemporary issues related to psychology. Dialectic teaching method will be adopted, and the instructor will discuss psychological issues in the contemporary world with students. The course aims at guiding students to bridge their theoretical psychological knowledge with the society.

Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:1. identify the key features of social psychology

1. Describe fundamental philosophical issues underlying controversies in contemporary psychology.
 
2. Critically review sociological and political issues underlying evolution of psychological theories and constructs.
 
3. Appraise the existing categories and diagnostic label of abnormality and its consequence to society.  
 
4. Evaluate possibilities of new technologies from a psychological perspective. Integrate knowledge in different subdisciplines in psychology in analyzing contemporary issues.
