Course Aims
This course aims to provide a theoretical and practical foundation in Child-Centered Play Therapy to further enhance the well-being of child clients and their families. The course begins by exploring our understanding of play, its significance in human development, and its role in therapy. Students will be guided in learning various essential play therapy techniques, including their history and background, their way of understanding children and child development, and their primary methods for assisting children and their families. The course also discusses how therapists establish relationships with children, the types of toys used, and other relevant aspects. The course also explores issues related to the Chi-nese cultural context and considerations when working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

l   Examine the principles of Child-Centered Play Therapy, contextualiz-ing its application to enhance the well-being of child clients and fami-lies.

l   Utilize a range of play therapy techniques, enabling children to express themselves, solve challenges, establish self-acceptance and develop sense of responsibility.

l  Assess the various stages of child development, understand individual developmental needs, and apply play therapy interventions accordingly.
