The course is designed to help students to acquire a foundation knowledge and an understanding of the Criminal justice policy and system of practice in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The policy adopted in support of the system will be explained, and the practice of criminal justice system that is embedded in its procedure will be introduced. The major components of the criminal justice system, including the police, courts and correctional agencies will be introduced. This course enables students to gain an insight into the key features, core values and institutions of the criminal justice system in Hong Kong.
