The Positive and Social Psychology Lab has been set up to promote a strength-based, multidisciplinary understanding of community mental health and well-being.

The lab researches on topics related to resilience, mental health promotion, adjustment to ageing and chronic illnesses, as well as positive psychology. It also provides a platform for teaching and academic exchange in areas of mental health, ageing and positive psychology. The lab is directed by Dr Winnie Yuen and Dr Bobo Lau. Dr Yuen received clinical psychology training with ample experience in research and practice related to mental health recovery, positive psychology, and sexual health promotion. Dr Lau is trained in health psychology and gerontology and has been working on topics related to successful aging, longevity, information technology use and adjustment to chronic illnesses. 


The on-going projects of the lab target several domains including
1) community mental health and support,
2) strengths-based interventions
3) caregiving for oldest-olds, and
4) use of information technology for health and well-being purposes.
