Course Aims
This course aims to engage students in conducting their own research studies in counseling psychology independently under the supervision of departmental staff. Students are required to demonstrate their ability in formulating research hypotheses, conduct research studies in psychology, present research findings and write their theses in APA format.

Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOS)

After completing this course, students will be able to: 

1. Apply concepts and knowledge in Counselling Psychology in a research setting;
 
2. Demonstrate understanding of the relevant literatures in Counselling Psychology;
 
3. Choose appropriate methodologies for research studies;
 
4. Analyse data with appropriate statistical methods;
 
5. Present research orally in a professional way;
 
6. Write a research dissertation with professional designated standards

*All assessment tasks will be graded by a second marker which will contribute to 30% of them. A meeting between the supervisor and the second marker will be called if their grades to an assessment task differ greater than one full grade.
